Target for this lesson...

My target for this lesson is to edit everything that needs to be finished so I can then concentrate on revising for the exam.

Update on Contents Page

I also got given feedback on my contents page. moved the word contents underneath my masthead because the masthead it the most important part and I then had free space next to it so I decided to put social media links there so it appeals to my target audience. I also put a small amount of text under the subheadings so it tells the reader a little about the articles featured in the magazine.

Update on Double Page Spread

I have also been given feedback on my double page spread and I have changed the pull quotes that I had put on. I completely changed the main pull quote because it didn't fit with the magazine and it looked out of place. So I took it out and replaced it with a subheading that points to the section where it talks about who will be performing. i also moved the other pull quote to the other page because it was in the wrong place from where it was taken from the text. I also moved the main text into three columns on the left side of the page because it wasn't right having two columns on one page and three on the other. 

Update on Front Cover

I have been given feedback on my front cover and i have taken it on board and changed the parts that didn't seem right for the magazine. I have moved the +30free songs from the top right corner to the bottom right because you couldn't see the text no matter what colour it was changed to. I also changed the colour of it because it didn't fit with the style of magazine and the white seemed to fit better with it. I changed the colours if the text for all of the writing to quite neutral colours because I felt that it went with the autumn feel of the magazine.

My target for this lesson is to edit my website and finish up with my double page spread, ready for feedback.

My target for this lesson is to receive feedback on my website and billboard and edit those to make them better and stand out more. If there is time, I will continue on with my double page spread.

Update on Front Cover

 

This is an update on my front cover. I have also been given feedback for my front cover and I have acted on it by completely changing the dominant image because the other didn't work that well and it wasn't getting across to the reader what the magazine was about. I have also changed the colours of the sell lines because they were getting lost in the image and you couldn't see them clearly. I have also changed the tag line because it said "That festival feeling" and I changed it because my masthead already says the word festival so I changed it to music so the reader would then know more about what is within the magazine. I have also changed the banner positioning because it was originally at the top of my magazine but I have now moved it to the bottom because it then frees up some space at the top so I can move my masthead up. 

Update on Contents Page

 

This is an update on my contents page. I have been given feedback from my lecturer and I have acted on it by adding an extra image to make it look professional and I have also added text underneath the subheadings to add more information about the subjects that I have raised. I have also moved the website to the bottom of the page because it didn't fit with the masthead at the top. I have also moved the masthead so that the "contents" is underneath the actual name of the magazine. I have done this because it then frees up some space for me to add in social media links and other important information about the magazine.

My target for this lesson is to continue on with my double page spread and edit the parts that I have done after the feedback that I was given last lesson.

Update on Front Cover

I have changed the image on my front cover because the previous one didn't fit well with my magazine genre. I have moved some of the text around so it fits on the page and so it is clearly visible to the audience/reader.

My target for this lesson is to continue on with my double page spread and edit some posts on my blog and put in posts that I have missed out.

Update on Double Page Spread

I have changed everything on my magazine because it wasn't looking right and it didn't look like a really magazine. I have changed the way I have set out to photos and instead of having the masthead across the top of the page, I have put it just below an image and I have also added a sub title because it tells you little bit more information about the event. I have added quotes from the article itself to make it look like a real magazine and it also makes it look a lot better then before. I have added boxes in the images so it tells you who the photos are of and also a small bit of information about them. I have used green and orange for the colour scheme because it adds an autumn feel but also a spring feel with the green being added to it.

My target for this lesson is to finish up with my contents page and front cover and start creating my double page spread.

Flat Plan for Hyperlinked Page 2

This hyperlinked page I want to be different because I want this as the events page so there will be different stories that may be in the magazine as well. There will be a basic set up of the website because I want the website be be similar to my magazine and billboard. I feel that this will be effective because it will be easily readable and the audience will be able to navigate around it quickly.

My hyperlinked pages will look the same as the home page because a lot of the information on there will transfer over to the next page. I want this because I have seen that most website have the same information on as the previous page.

Update on Billboard

Update on my Billboard. I have created my billboard and I wanted to keep it simple so I have placed the photo on it and made it black and white because I think it looks better than having the picture in colour.  i have then put the name of the magazine across the middle and I think it looks good because it is simple and easy to read and there is also not a lot of text to read so it is effective for passers-by/

Update on a page of the Website

Update on a page of my website.  I have added a new photo and added text underneath them.  I think this looks better because you want to know who they are and also what they are doing for the events.

Update on Contents Page

Update on my Contents Page.  I have added the photo and it seemed bare at the bottom of the photo so I added some text and I makes the reader look towards that, promoting the double page spread.  I may have to change the photo later on but I like this photo because it is simple and adds more to the page.

Update on DPS

This is an update on my DPS. I have moved around the photos and I've added an extra one because I thought it could do with something else on the page.  I have had to move some of the writing around too for the photos to be able to fit on the page.  An out line has been put on the title because it makes it stand out to the reader and I think it makes it look more appealing.  

Update on Front Cover

This is an update on my Front Cover.  I have now added the photo and because of this, I have had to change the colour of some of the text because it was blending in with the photo and you couldn't read the writing.  I have changed some of the writing to white to make it stand out more on the dark background and on others I have changed the colour to a dark red because the black wasn't standing out and the white kept blending in with the photo. I may still have a few little things to tweak.

This is my website so far.  The colour is linked the the colours of my magazine, keeping with the theme of my magazine.  I have started to put photos on it and I have also put text on it to make the website look and sound better.  I am going to edit it and also put more photos on and maybe change the photos that are already on there.

Target for this lesson...

My target for this lesson is to edit my front cover after the feedback that I received on it.

Billboard Idea

For my Billboard, I would like to make it really simple, similar to the Apple billboard but I will make it my own but keep the simplicity of it and I feel that it will be more effective as a billboard than putting more than a little bit of text on it because people won't see what it says driving past it if it had a lot of text on it.

Update on Double Page Spread

 

I have edited the DPS again because it wasn't looking like an actual magazine because of how I was setting out the text and where I would have been putting the images.  I have now put my text into columns to make it look realistic.

Double Page Spread Update

I have updated my Double Page Spread and I decided to change the back ground colour because I thought it looked better than just plain white and I have also changed the font on the title because the previous font that I used didn't look right and once I started adding other things to it, I started to dislike the font I used.  I have also added the page numbers and the name on the magazine to the bottom of the page with a banner running across the bottom because I thought it would look more like a magazine and also I thought it would look effective.

Flat Plan for Home Page of Website

I want my website to link back to my magazine so I will put the masthead at the top and also the tag line that is on the magazine. I want the navigation bar under that so the audience can easily move around the website. Also websites always have extra info at the bottom, such as, careers so I want that at the bottom too.

My target for this lesson is to start on my front cover and try and get that finished this week.

Photos from Photo-shoots

These are the photos from the photo-shoots that I did. I didn't use some of the photos because they were either too blurry and you couldn't see their faces, it was too windy so their hair was blown into their face or the sun was too bright so the shot didn't look right when it was taken. Some of the photos were too dark so I couldn't use them even though they would have been good to use for my magazine. However, I did get some really good and effective shots of my models/bands which I will be using for my magazine, billboard and website.
