A comment on how it has helped me
All of the research that I have done has helped me a lot to come up with ideas for my product because I have found existing magazines, websites and billboards that are out there and that are successful and I have combined and found different ideas that I can use for my product. Researching into how to create something or to find ideas is a really good idea because it helps you a lot and I have found a lot of ideas to use for my product.

The Recce for Outdoor Photo shoot
the ‘recce’
Provide answers in paragraph form to the questions below that
are relevant to your
production.
1. Are there any potential hazards that
could pose a health and safety risk where your photo shoot will take place
(trailing cables/traffic/other objects)?
I
will be taking my photos in a park and a wooded area. There will be a lot of hazards around. Tree branches will be on the ground and my
models could trip over them. Also, there
will be people walking their dogs and my models and I will have to watch out
for that.
2. What will you do to ensure these risks
are minimised?
I
will make sure the risks are minimised by moving objects out of the way before
I take the photos just in case my models trip over or hurt themselves.
3. Will the time of day/weather affect the
outcome of the photos? Have you allowed for this?
The
time of day and the weather may affect my photos because it maybe raining and
then my photos won’t look as good and also it maybe over cast and the photos
won’t come out right.
4. Have you considered the background to
your photos, particularly if taken outside? How will you ensure you will get
the background you want?
I
have considered the background to my photos because I will be taking them
outside so the background will be trees and a park with a wide-open space. If the photos don’t look right, I will move
somewhere else in the same location and see if they look better there.
5. Have you considered lighting? What
about the ‘problems’ of natural lighting, either outside, or streaming through
a window? Will you need to use a flash? Have you considered reflective objects
that might spoil the effect?
The
lighting make be effected, especially outside, because the weather is
unpredictable and it may come in dark or over cast and the photos won’t look as
good.
6. Do you need permission to take photos
in the place/venue you have in mind?
I won’t need to ask for permission because, where I’m taking
my photos, it’s in a public place and it won’t be disturbing anyone.
7. Do you need to book time in a room (eg
the photography studio at Shiney)?
I will need a photography room of my front cover photo so I
will be booking the photography room in the VPA building.
8. Are other people/crowds likely to be an
issue for you? What have you done to ensure that it will not spoil the effect?
People will be walking about in the park but it won’t
disturb and spoil the effect of the photos because it will add to it and make
it look natural.
9. Are you reliant on lifts/props/friends’
equipment/models? How have you planned that these things will come together at
the appointed time? Plan B?
I have made
plans for my models and I to meet up to take the photos but they are all on
different days because of work and college.
If it comes down to me having to change my idea, I will and I will
change it to something that requires less photos of a group of people.
I have thought of how I want things to turn out and also how
things may turn out if people don’t turn up or if they can’t make it on the day
they said. I have thought about things
that could go wrong, such as, the photos not looking right or them being blurry
and I have thought about the weather because it may not be the right weather to
take the photos because it may be raining or over cast which will effect the
outcome of the photos. However, if any
of these do happen, I have a back up plan to sort it all out.

Pinterest ideas for Props, Costume, Location and Hairstyles
Visit Megan's profile on Pinterest.
When looking through Pinterest, I found some ideas for my magazine and I thought they would go well will it. For the front cover, I want my model to have a white T-Shirt on because I am taking the photo from the shoulders up and I want it to be white because I will also be having a white background and the only main colour that will be there is the colour of the rainbow effect or paint that I will be using to put over the model's face.
Within the magazine on the double page spread, I will have a lot of different models, male and female, so it appeals to all genders. They will all have different styles depending on the type of music they will be playing and also their age. If they are older and more sophisticated, they will probably wear smart, casual clothing, whereas, younger artists/bands will probably wear casual everyday clothing such as checkered shirts and girls would probably wear jeans and a T-Shirt.
For location, I really like the idea of the woods and having that as the background to some of the photos or maybe a park with a bandstand in to show where the event will be held.
For the front cover model's hairstyle, I want it to be big and wavy so when I take the photos, her face and hair fill the page. I liked the idea of her hair being down and very wavy but I also liked the idea of a braid in her hair but I would want the braid to be messy so it still has waves. I like this because it adds to the summer theme that I'm going for and I think it would attract the audience to read it.

Overall, How the research helped
This research has helped me because I have looked for how well they magazine company has created the regional magazine and I have been able to take tips and inspiration from this to create my own music magazine.
